The original packaging was artfully designed to look like a tapestry, so that ladies could recycle the box for jewellery and other precious trinkets. A cutting-edge Roses Easter egg carton from 1966 won the Packaging Star of the Year award it was designed to look like a Dorothy handbag.
Nowadays you will find Roses chocolates twist-wrapped in bright cellulose and foil wrappers, in distinctive blue boxes to give as a gift, or in a round tin to share when everybody gets together.
